New generation multi-layer mapping-while-drilling technology and its applications (webinar)

This talk is about a new emerging LWD technology for geosteering, a new resistivity-based tool that can map multiple layers while drilling in real-time. This service doubles depth of detection range compared with previous bed-boundary detection services, delivering clearer boundary delineation—even for the thinnest layers 3 ft or less—and more computing power behind the ultrahigh-definition mapping for faster turnaround time while drilling. The combination of innovative inversion with measurements coming from the axial, tilted, and transverse antenna provides the fastest and highest delineation of reservoir layers and formation evaluation while drilling. Case studies form Australia and other places will also be discussed.
About the Presenter:
Haifeng Wang graduated from Peking University in China and holds two B.Sc. degrees (Computer Science, Economics) and a M.Sc. degree on Geology. Haifeng has 20-year experience in the industry involving many areas like MWD/LWD, directional drilling, geosteering & reservoir mapping, G&G software, project management. He current works for Schlumberger as Geosteering & Reservoir Mapping domain champion for Asia and is based in Perth Australia. Haifeng is an active member of SPE, SPWLA, and PESA.
